Who Is Your Nico?
I recently heard a pastor talk about his friend, Nico. He described Nico as someone who was there for him through it all — the victories, the heartbreaks, the quiet moments, and the loud celebrations. Nico was more than a friend; he was a guide, a safe space, a true source of strength.
That message made me reflect on my own life.
There was a time when I found myself in a completely new chapter — a new town, a new job, and stepping into the most profound role of all: becoming a new mother. Everything was unfamiliar. Every street felt different. Every day at work felt like starting from scratch. And motherhood… it stretched me in ways I didn’t know were possible.
I faced doubts I had never experienced before. I questioned my abilities, my decisions, and even my sense of self. The loneliness that can come from so many big changes at once can be overwhelming. It felt like I was constantly balancing on a tightrope, afraid to fall.
But in the middle of that uncertainty, I had my Nico — my husband.
He was there to listen when I needed to vent. He encouraged me when I felt like giving up. He stepped in to fill the gaps when I was exhausted, emotionally and physically. We supported each other in ways that deepened our bond, and I realized that true partnership means being each other’s steady anchor.
And then there was another Nico in my life — a dear friend from years ago. No matter where life took us, she always showed up with love and understanding. She never judged. She never hesitated to remind me of who I am and what I’m capable of. We cheered each other on through different seasons of life, and that unwavering friendship became a lifeline.
Having a “Nico” reduces anxiety and insecurities. It reminds us we don’t have to face challenges alone. It gives us the courage to step into the unknown, to take risks, and to grow — because we know someone is in our corner no matter what.
For some, their Nico might be a spouse, a best friend, a mentor, a family member or even a higher power like God. For me, it was my husband, my friend and my family— beautiful reminders that I am supported and loved beyond measure.
✨ Who is your Nico?
Who stands beside you through your storms and dances with you in your victories?
And maybe even more importantly… Whose Nico are you?
As I continue to grow and step into new chapters, I want to be a Nico for others. To hold space without judgment, to encourage without limits, and to remind someone they’re never truly alone.
Find your Nico. Be a Nico. And watch how your life — and the lives around you — transform in ways you never imagined.
And if you’re still searching for your “Nico” — someone to walk alongside you, hold space for your growth, and cheer you on through life’s ups and downs — I’d be honored to be that guide. Let’s take that next step together.
